After spending about four hours atop a Fort Worth billboard threatening to jump, a naked man has returned to ground level.
The man climbed up onto a billboard along the 2300 block of West 7th Street at about noon Monday, drawing stares and stopping traffic near Montgomery Plaza. Police arrived a short time later and began trying to talk the man off the top of the billboard, where he precariously paced back and forth.
NBC’s Deborah Ferguson overheard officers talking with the man at the scene, asking him to sit down. Ferguson said the man told police he had no family and that everyone was gone.
At about 3:30 p.m., the man came down from the top of the billboard to the platform base, and then eventually made his way down a firefighter’s ladder to the ground.
