Today’s Top Eurotastic Song By Herrey’s

Here are the Herrey’s singing their 1984 classic Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley:

Herrey’s is a Swedish pop group, consisting of three brothers, Per Herrey (born August 9, 1958), Richard Herrey (born August 19, 1964) and Louis Herrey (born November 3, 1966).  In 1984, the year Herreys won Eurovision, the brothers were living and working as singers in the United States.  As a result, all three of the Herrey brothers are fluent in English as well as Swedish.

This song is a perfect illustration of the time period in which it was performed; a very upbeat 1980s-style dance song, performed by three impossibly clean cut young men – fellow Swedish Eurovision participant Tommy Körberg famously dubbed them “the dancing deodorants” in the press, a derogatory nickname that stuck with them for the rest of their career in their home country.

Porn Star Sasha Grey Poses For PETA Ad

Animal right group PETA has stepped up its advertising campaigns by getting Sasha Grey to pose nude for their new poster.

Sasha Gray poses in her Peta ad.

The porn star, who recently acted in the mainstream film The Girlfriend Experience, shed her clothes to promote the animal rights group’s campaign to have pet cats and dogs desexed.

PETA – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – usually uses actresses like Eva Mendes, Christina Applegate and Pamela Anderson for its campaigns.

In the poster, a naked Grey is barely concealed by a white sheet under the words: “Too Much Sex Can Be a Bad Thing: Have your cats and dogs spayed or neutered.”

Grey said she was a big fan of the animal rights group and wanted to support their desexing campaign.

“I think it’s something very simple that pet owners can do … If you want to have a pet you need to take the time to look after that pet.”

Thief Stuffs 75 Bottles In His Pants

Police say a Massachusetts man who stuffed 75 bottles of body lotion in his pants couldn’t slip away from authorities, hampered by slacks that were nearly bursting at the seams.

Springfield police say 30-year-old Chamil Guadarrama of Framingham was charged with larceny after the incident Wednesday night at Bath and Body Works in the Eastfield Mall.

Police say mall security officers chased Guadarrama, but he had stuffed so many of the eight-ounce lotion containers in his pants that he could barely run. Police say he could not bend over to get in the police cruiser until some of the bottles were removed.

It was unclear if Guadarrama has an attorney. A telephone number for him could not immediately be found Thursday.

Healthy Camel Burgers Hit The Menu

A traditional Emirati restaurant in Dubai has added a new entree to its menu billed as a fat-free choice for carnivorous but health-conscious diners: the Camel Burger.

For 20 UAE dirhams ($5.45), the Local House restaurant offers a quarter pound camel burger, loaded with cheese and smothered in burger sauce, the Xpress weekly newspaper reported on Thursday.

Ali Ahmad Esmail, Local House assistant manager, told the paper that the burger patties were fat- and cholesterol-free. But he declined to say how the outlet tenderized the tough camel meat.

“It’s a trade secret,” he said.

Camel meat is widely eaten in some Arab countries, but is not typically sold in supermarkets or served in restaurants.

The paper reported that Local House said it was the first to introduce the burger in the United Arab Emirates. A fast food outlet in neighboring Saudi Arabia put baby camel burgers on its menu last year.

The camel burger, a hit with residents and tourists, could soon also be on offer in the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower formerly known as Burj Dubai, where Local House may open a branch, the paper said.

The burger is served with fries or potato wedges, and the paper suggested it could be washed down with a soft drink or a camel milkshake, also available in Dubai.

Teen Fights Off Shark With Boogie Board

A 14-year old New Zealand girl has been praised for fighting off a shark with her boogie board after it had bitten her.

The shark bit Lydia Ward on the hip as she was standing in waist-deep water on a beach near the southern New Zealand city of Invercargill on Monday, the Southland Times newspaper reported.

Ward repeatedly hit the shark about the head until it let her go, prompting her mother to praise her calm reaction. “I couldn’t believe the lack of fuss. I would’ve been hysterically screaming but no, there was no screaming. She was just standing there looking a bit shaky,” the Southland Times reported her mother Fiona Ward as saying.

Ward, who was not seriously hurt in the attack, said it still didn’t feel like it had actually happened.

“I saw my brother’s face and turned to the side and saw this large grey thing in the water so I just hit it on the head with a boogie board,” Ward said. The shark was estimated to be 1.5 meters (5 feet) long.

Banker Caught Looking At Semi-Nude Photos On Live TV

An Australian banker is in hot water after being filmed looking at semi-nude photos of a model while a colleague was doing a television interview nearby.

He could be seen clicking on photos of Miranda Kerr in the background of the Channel 7 interview on Tuesday with an analyst for Macquarie Private Wealth.

The footage soon made its way on to YouTube and became a huge hit.

Macquarie Private Wealth, however, was not amused and said it was taking the matter very seriously.

The images of Ms Kerr could clearly be seen during the Channel 7 interview, only at the end of which does the banker turn to the camera and realise he has been filmed.

A Macquarie statement said: “Macquarie has strict policies in place surrounding the use of technology and the issue arising from the live cross on Seven News is being dealt with internally.”

The banker in question, David Kiely, a mid-level client investment manager, has reportedly been meeting executives to determine his future.

His colleague, Martin Lakos, had been discussing interest rates in the Channel 7 interview.

A spokesman for Channel 7 said it had expressed its concerns to Macquarie over the incident.

The Australian said Macquarie’s human resources department had e-mailed all 11,500 staff around the world with its internet policy, telling them to “familiarise themselves” with it.

Park Weddings Irk The Donald

Donald Trump is at odds with officials in Rancho Palos Verdes over weddings at an oceanfront park next to his Trump National Golf Club.

Couples can pay less than $1,000 to get married at Founders Park, a 5.5-acre park with spectacular ocean views that sits behind Trump’s clubhouse.

The park has no bathrooms, limited parking and just a few benches. Trump says bridal parties that book weddings in the park assume they can use the facilities at his golf club where weddings can cost as much as $150,000.

Trump manages park rentals for the city and either wants out or an increase in wedding prices. Trump’s general manager David Conforti wrote a letter to the city saying the golf course is losing money on the deal.

Mayor David Wolowicz says the city is trying to work out a solution with the golf club.

Explaining Oscar – The Feline Grim Reaper

When doctors and staff realized that a cat living in a U.S. nursing home could sense when someone was going to die, the feline, Oscar, was portrayed as a furry grim reaper or four-legged angel of death.

FILE - In this July 23, 2007 file photo, Oscar, a hospice cat ...

But Dr. David Dosa, who broke the news of Oscar’s abilities in a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2007, said he never intended to make Oscar sound creepy or his arrival at a bedside to be viewed negatively.

Dosa said he hopes his newly released book, “Making Rounds With Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat” will put the cat in a more favorable light as well as providing a book to help people whose loved ones are terminally ill.

“After the New England Journal article you got the feeling that if Oscar is in your bed then you are dead, but you did not really see what is going on for these family members,” said Dosa, an assistant professor of medicine at Brown University.

“I wanted to write a book that would go beyond Oscar’s peculiarities, to tell why he is important to family members and caregivers who have been with him at the end of a life.”

Dosa said Oscar’s story is fascinating on many levels.

Oscar was adopted as a kitten from an animal shelter to be raised as a therapy cat at the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence, Rhode Island, which cares for people with severe dementia and in the final stages of various illnesses.

When Oscar was about six months old the staff noticed that he would curl up to sleep with patients who were about to die.

So far he has accurately predicted about 50 deaths.

Dosa recounts one instance when staff were convinced of the imminent death of one patient but Oscar refused to sit with that person, choosing instead to be on the bed of another patient down the hallway. Oscar proved to be right. The person he sat with died first, taking staff on the ward by surprise.

Dosa said there is no scientific evidence to explain Oscar’s abilities, but he thinks the cat might be responding to a pheromone or smell that humans simply don’t recognize.

“I don’t think Oscar is that unique, but he is in a unique environment. Animals are remarkable in their ability to see things we don’t, be it the dog that sniffs out cancer or the fish that predicts earthquakes. Animals know when they are needed.”

Restaurant Burglarized 3 Times In 4 Days

A Butte restaurant was burglarized three times in four days, but the last time, the would-be thieves left empty handed.

The first break-in and burglary of Casagranda’s restaurant happened sometime overnight Friday and was reported at 10 a.m. Saturday. Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff John Walsh said the suspect or suspects forced a door open and took the contents of the tip jar, between $100 and $200.

The door was fixed, but the culprits pried it open the next night and again cleaned out the tip jar.

Sometime on Monday night, someone made a third attempt to rob the restaurant. That time, a cash register was destroyed in an attempt to get it open, however, it was empty.
